In Birmingham, AL, has gone into business on his own, and opened a new music-gear store called Sound Deals, Inc. For people who want to buy gear at the best prices from a courteous salesperson, I consider Jamie the best bet in the USA (or anywhere else; he'll gladly ship outside the country). I've bought tons of stuff from him, never paid a higher price than was available anywhere else, and always received gear promptly and in good shape. He has replaced the now-defunct Pi Keyboards and Audio in Cleveland as my favorite mail-order source. Jamie can be reached by email at 72130.1746@compuserve.com or phoned at 800-822-6434 (orders only) or 205-823-4888 (customer service). Ask for him by name, and please tell him you're from the Internet; he likes to keep track of where people heard about him, and can occasionally offer better deals to Netters. Just a satisfied customer.... metlay | and she's a master of return hitting atomic city | giving rhythm to her posts | so you read her and think hey it sounds good metlay@netcom.com | and wish her posts had a soundtrack too (f. ercolessi) Nick Rothwell | "Say, how many contemporary dancers CASSIEL Contemporary Music/Dance | are there in this bar?" cassiel@cassiel.demon.co.uk | "Dunno; count the Dr. Martens cassiel@cix.compulink.co.uk | and divide by two..." I just bought a 24 channel board from them, and I can hear the saws and hammers in the background. I really don't know if they are still affiliated with Music Alley. My experiences are like everyone elses: I have bought a reasonable collection of goodies from Jamie over the past three or so years. Always get BEST prices, always get FAST delivery, always come away from the deal with a smile. He/they are knowledgeable and friendly, and are willing to take the time to work with you (unlike so many other mail order places). I know this sounds like an ad... I can't help it; I'm a very satisfied customer.
